MINI INSIDER.

Wherever we look, we cannot help but see how much the past few months have changed our daily lives, the way we travel and how we interact with one another. In these turbulent times, we are having to do without many of the things we normally take for granted. Nevertheless, we are learning some amazing lessons from the crisis. That our solidarity and strength as a community are guiding us through, for example, and that it sometimes doesn’t take much to bring a smile to someone’s face.

Essentially, we’ve learned that it’s the little things in life that give us such a deal of pleasure and make life so extraordinary. For us here at MINI, too, there are lots of little things that we have sorely missed and are now looking forward to all the more: a road trip with good friends, stopping by our favourite corner café or simply turning up the music in our MINI as loud as we like and singing along. It really is the little things – #theMINIthings.

Our brand itself was the product of a crisis – the Suez conflict of the late 1950s – that forced the Western world to be more sparing in its use of raw materials. It was against that backdrop that the ingenious inventor Alec Issigonis came up with his bold concept for the first MINI: a small, economical car for an urban environment – sporting a timeless design. The rest is automobile history.

Today, we are keeping our sights firmly on the future, alert and eager to discover new developments. And we are looking forward to the time when we and our friends can climb into a MINI together and drive off to explore the world. Let this issue inspire you – and don’t forget to appreciate the little things in life.
